Things
You Should Know About The Comstock Wild Horses
- There are more
than 1,000 of these horses living in harmony in the mountains of the
Virginia Range between Virginia City, Reno, Dayton and Carson City,
Nevada.
- They are not true
"Mustangs." They are considered "estray" horses
descended from loyal animals who were owned and abandoned by miners,
ranchers, cowboys and others and often have very good blood lines.
- They are more gentle
than typical wild horses, can be adopted
for as little as $125.00 and, if properly trained, make strong, intelligent,
loving, loyal mounts.

- They have played
an important role in the history of the west, have survived against
all odds, and deserve to live either by running free or, when
needed, through adoption.
- They deserve to
be gently trained and handled lovingly.
- They are protected
by the Virginia Range
Wildlife Protection Association and the Nevada
Department of Agriculture who oversee all adoptions.
- NOW is the
time to set aside land so that there will always be a place for these
Comstock wild horses to run free. Please click
