The Let ’em Run Foundation currently has the following projects underway. More information about some of these projects can be found with the links at the top of this page:

  • Education and Public Relations projects: Work with the schools and the media to impart history, the mystery and the magic of these wild horses and their role in winning the west.
  • National Album Project: A second album is planned featuring big-name entertainers to raise serious funds for the Let 'em Run Foundation projects. Helping with this project are music supervisor and producer Tom Bocci, internationally known guitarist and producer Roy Rogers and marketing and media consultant Gaynell Rogers.
  • Creation of Wild Horse Museum and Gift Shop in Virginia City: In the spring of 2003 we hope to have raised the funds necessary to open a wild horse museum in the tourist town of Virginia City which will help spread the word about the horses and raise additional monies. OPENED MAY 2003
  • Purchasing/Leasing and Secure Grazing Rights for Land for a Wild Horse Sanctuary: Work is already in progress to secure grazing rights and lease or purchase land which will be set aside for the wild horse sanctuary and reserve. This will have the added benefit of increasing tourism in the area, thereby helping local businesses as well.
  • Opening the "Comstock Wild Horse Sanctuary": At the edge of the proposed Wild Horse Sanctuary, we propose to build a rustic log-cabin style Visitor's Center and move the museum and gift shop from downtown Virginia City to also be housed there. In addition, a wild horse training and adoption facility, observation deck with high-powered telescopes and other complimentary services will be provided. As many as 500,000 tourists per year will be able to visit this center, and community education and outreach programs, and herd management programs will also be conducted from this center.
  • This program will be a pilot program for other sanctuaries of this nature to be built elsewhere: Just as Chincoteague and Assateague Islands wild pony reserves have inspired our project, we hope our program will inspire others.
