Girls From Santa Cruz Project Nears Completion

SANTA CRUZ, CA — In June of 2002, singer-songwriters Ginny Mitchell, Mary McCaslin and Lacy J. Dalton and their talented group of musicians performed another benefit concert at Santa Cruz High School’s Performance Theater in Santa Cruz, Ca. The project, entitled “Girls From Santa Cruz” and produced by Marty Collins and Ginny Mitchell (Mitchell-Collins Productions) for Let ’em Run, will feature digital footage of that concert, a live CD and a DVD as well. The concert features mostly original music along with some old favorites. The live concert mix and CD is currently in production at Lacy’s “Medicine Dog” recording studio in the mountains above Reno, NV. The concert footage and DVD are currently in production at the Mitchell-Collins editing suite in Santa Cruz. The live concert is set to air on PBS stations in the San Jose and Monterey Bay Area in March of 2003, with nationwide release shortly thereafter. Proceeds from sales of the CD and DVD will benefit the Let ’em Run Foundation.

“Sanctuary,” also a Mitchell-Collins production, is an upcoming three-part PBS documentary on the Comstock wild horses of the Virginia Range in Nevada. It will also include live concert footage of Lacy, Ginny, and friends from the 2001 Wild Horse Crossing concert along with music and footage from the “Girls From Santa Cruz” concert and live CD.
